What I wrote in the description of the Economics Blog applies here as well: the political theories of the world run the gamut from an all-encompassing collectivism on the left (embodied in the Big Brother totalitarianism of George Orwell’s dystopian classic “1984” as well as in his novella-length parable “Animal Farm”) to a hyper-individualism on the right expressed in Ayn Rand’s laissez-faire libertarianism (popularized — since I mentioned Orwell’s fiction — in her novels “Atlas Shrugged” and “The Fountainhead”). The purpose of the Politics Blog section of this website is to study the history of political thought, from ancient to modern times, in order to discern what does and what doesn’t conform to the Biblical blueprint for the state and to classic Christian teaching on the social kingship of Christ.
