The project of the NT Blog section of this website is to systematically work through all 27 books of the New Testament, chapter by chapter, expounding their meaning by carefully exegeting the text from the original Greek, drawing upon the rich tradition of the classic commentators down through the years, and finally applying its message to our current situation in salvation history. We will begin with the Gospels, including some rather surprising information for those who have uncritically accepted what has become the conventional wisdom of the past hundred years regarding the origins, dates, authorship, and literary relationships of especially the first three (or “synoptic”) gospels, the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke.
