Because today most people’s knowledge of culture seems restricted to pop culture (in the case of music, the latest Lady Gaga or Miley Cyrus music video), the purpose of the Music Blog section of this website is to contribute to the increase of our musical literacy by surveying the history of Western music from its origins down to the present day, appreciating the works of the great composers along the way.
